Prayer for Gratitude
Father, I lift my voice in gratitude for who You are and for everything You have done in my life. Your Word says in Psalm 103 to bless Your name and forget not all Your benefits. I refuse to overlook Your goodness. I refuse to minimize Your faithfulness. I refuse to act as if Your hand has not carried me, protected me, and sustained me.
I decree that gratitude rises in me with strength. I decree that thanksgiving governs my perspective. I decree that my spirit stays aware of every blessing You have released and every battle You have already won.
Open my eyes to see the ways You have covered me. Open my heart to recognize the doors You opened that I did not deserve and the dangers You blocked that I never even knew about. Let gratitude break every spirit of complaining, comparison, and entitlement. Let thanksgiving silence every negative thought that tries to steal my joy or distort my view of Your goodness.
Teach me to honor You in the ordinary moments and the extraordinary ones. Teach me to acknowledge Your presence in the quiet seasons and the demanding ones. Teach me to remember that every breath, every opportunity, every provision, and every victory is evidence of Your hand on my life.
Your Word says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks in all circumstances. Let that command shape my posture. Let it shape my language. Let it shape my expectations. I declare that gratitude will not be seasonal in my life. It will be a lifestyle. It will be a weapon. It will be a shield against discouragement and a reminder that You are always working for my good.
Thank You for what You have done. Thank You for what You are doing. Thank You for what You are preparing that I have not yet seen.
