Repentance

&

Surrender

Repentance and surrender mark the beginning of a transformed life with God.

Turning Back to God

Repentance is more than a one-time event. While repentance often begins when we first turn to Christ, it remains a daily practice throughout the life of a believer. Repentance is the willingness to acknowledge sin, agree with God, and turn away from anything that separates us from Him. Surrender is the ongoing choice to lay down our own will and submit to God’s will. Together, repentance and surrender keep our hearts soft, our lives aligned with God, and our relationship with Him growing.

Walking in Daily Repentance

Repentance is not just for the day we are saved. It is a daily response to God’s conviction and correction. As believers, we are continually being transformed into the image of Christ. When we miss the mark, repentance allows us to acknowledge our sin, receive God’s forgiveness, and return to the path He has set before us. A repentant heart remains teachable, humble, and sensitive to the voice of God.

What is Surrender?

Surrender is more than words. It is the daily decision to lay down our own will and trust God’s will instead. It means allowing Him to lead every area of our lives, including our thoughts, relationships, desires, plans, and priorities. True surrender requires trust, obedience, and a willingness to follow God even when it is uncomfortable or challenges our own understanding.

Prayer

Heavenly Father,

I come before You with a humble heart, acknowledging where I have fallen short and where I have chosen my own ways over Yours. I ask You to forgive me for my sins and for anything in my life that is not pleasing to You.

Today, I choose to turn back to You. I surrender my plans, desires, attitudes, and ambitions into Your hands. Search my heart, reveal anything that is not aligned with Your will, and help me walk in obedience to Your Word.

Create in me a clean heart, renew a right spirit within me, and teach me to follow You daily. Give me the strength to resist temptation, the wisdom to walk in truth, and the courage to trust You completely.

I surrender my life to You and invite You to lead me according to Your purpose.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
